Stories
My stories have been (or will soon be) published in The Fiddlehead, The Danforth Review, SubTerrain and “Lust for Life” (Vehicule Press anthology). In 2011, one of my stories took second place in This Magazine’s Great Canadian Literary Hunt.
My creative non-fiction work was part of the “Get on the Bus” exhibition produced by San Francisco’s, City-Space.
If you want a laugh at my expense, you can find some early, embarrassing stuff, mostly flash stories but some longer pieces, in the online archives of Thieves Jargon, Eclectica and Pindeldyboz.
School
I’m currently working towards my MFA in Creative Writing at UBC.
I completed the SFU’s Writer’s Studio in 2009 and prior to that I recieved a BA in Film Studies from Carleton University and a Journalism diploma from Langara College.
Other
I’ve done a lot of things to pay the rent. Most of it centres around telling stories. I’ve worked as an editorial assistant, a publishing coordinator, a marketing coordinator, and a story producer for daytime television. I’ve been a publicist and a media consultant and a business writer for hire.
My first job was manning the box office at the beautiful and brilliant Mayfair Theatre in Ottawa. These days I work in Marketing and Communications for the Canadian Cancer Society. I’m very proud to contribute in my small way to the great work the Society does. You should consider making a donation, maybe.
